Debate excels at GGSA League Debate #3

by Laily McClay, Head Debate Coach & Humanities Teacher

At our final league debate of the year, SA had a great showing. In JV Policy Debate, Jonas Crean '20, Kelly Needleman '20, Nurel Arriran '18, Olivia Synek '19, and Hannah Nabavi '20 all earned winning records. In Varsity Policy Debate, Emily Ibanez-Arroyo '19 and Sarah Shi '19 earned a winning record and Audrey von Raesfeld '17 and Claire Stephens '19 were undefeated. Big thanks to Connor Duncan for helping coach and to Humanities teacher Nathaniel Goldberg, and to parents Kathleen von Raesfeld and Lisa Jacobs for their help judging! Next up, SA Debate will attend the Stanford and Cal Invitationals as well as the Novice/JV Championship tournament and the State Qualifying tournament.
