Teaching & Learning

Signature Programs & Experiential Learning

“For the things we have to learn before we can do them, we learn by doing them.”  - Aristotle

Some of the most meaningful learning occurs when students leave the classroom, tackling real-world problems in a hands-on way. Experiential learning allows students to explore new passions and fosters a spirit of adventure as they take their learning off campus and out into the greater community and beyond.

Programs like Intersession, the Passport Program, and optional Academic Concentrations allow our students to delve deeply into areas of interest, to immerse themselves in other cultures and natural environments, to design complex projects that make use of the knowledge they have developed in the classroom,  build competence and confidence, and above all, to engage in reflection and self discovery.

Health & Wellness Education

Social-emotional learning is a critically important component of a comprehensive high school education.

Our Health & Wellness program is designed to inform, challenge, and support students in their ethical and personal decision making. Students grapple with complex health and moral issues and gain the skills and resources necessary to make informed and responsible choices for themselves.
