We Are All Founders

Sonoma Academy was founded in 2001 by the extraordinary philanthropy of a few, and has expanded to a large community of enthusiastic fundraisers, donors, and stewards who subscribe to the notion that a culture of sufficiency inspires sharing, collaboration, and contribution. Financial gifts are seen as a means in which everyone participates at whatever level possible to create the conditions for success of the institution--its mission, faculty, students, programs and surrounding community.

We find that people will stretch, if they care about the outcome, and we all care about the outcome of Sonoma Academy and its surrounding community. Foundational to the financial sustainability of our school every year is the Annual Fund. Other vehicles for financial participation are the Big Night Out spring fundraising gala, major gifts, multi-year strategic campaigns, and external financial aid events.

Sonoma Academy Is...

...is the only private, independent, college preparatory high school in Sonoma County. On our beautiful campus nestled at the base of Taylor Mountain in Southeastern Santa Rosa, our students are able to explore their interests and passions in a rigorous and inspiring environment that develops a lifelong love of learning and prepares them for college and beyond.

Sonoma Academy admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs.
