We Are All Founders

Sonoma Academy was founded in 2001 by the extraordinary philanthropy of a few, and has expanded to a large community of enthusiastic fundraisers, donors, and stewards who subscribe to the notion that a culture of sufficiency inspires sharing, collaboration, and contribution. Financial gifts are seen as a means in which everyone participates at whatever level possible to create the conditions for success of the institution--its mission, faculty, students, programs and surrounding community.

We find that people will stretch, if they care about the outcome, and we all care about the outcome of Sonoma Academy and its surrounding community. Foundational to the financial sustainability of our school every year is the Annual Fund. Other vehicles for financial participation are the Big Night Out spring fundraising gala, major gifts, multi-year strategic campaigns, and external financial aid events.

Sonoma Academy Is... the only private, independent, college preparatory high school in Sonoma County.
