Boys soccer opens league play with win over Mendocino

Athletic Department Staff
The Coyotes boys soccer team knocked off Mendocino 3-1 in both teams opening game of NCL II league play.  Mendocino won the NCL III division last season and was promoted to the NCL II.  The Coyotes Zander Crawford scored all three goals for the Coyotes and Sebastian Gonzalez earned the shutout in goal.  The Coyotes improved to 4-1 on the season.
The NCL II league is expected to be a close one again this season.  Last year, the league champion Calistoga led the way with an 11-1-2 record but the next five teams had six or seven wins with teams regularly knocking each other off.
The Coyotes return to league play this week with two key matchups, when they travel to Roseland Collegiate Prep on Wednesday before hosting Anderson Valley on Friday.
