Varsity Girls Capture League Championship

by Athletic Department Staff
With a 41-16 win over Technology High School, the varsity girls basketball team captured the NCL 2 league championship with a record of 13-1 in league play. They finished one game ahead of second place Upper Lake who finished with a 12-2 league record. This is the second league championship for the varsity girls in the past three years.

We faced deficits in several league games and managed to make the necessary adjustments and plays to become champions! We beat the top contenders in our league with several different styles of play and had numerous players step up on different occasions to be the difference makers between a win and a loss. Congratulations to the players on this terrific accomplishment.

The girls received a 10 seed, but we will host our first round game Wednesday at Sonoma Academy at 7 pm because we are a designated league champion and our opponent, Convent of the Sacred Heart from San Francisco, is not. The full 16 team bracket can be seen here.
