Covid Protocols

The health and safety of our community is our priority. Below are the Covid Protocols we have in place for the 2025-2026 school year. As always, we will adapt and communicate any required changes to these protocols as the state and county guidelines are updated.

2026-2027 Covid Protocols

Sick Protocol:
Please stay home when sick! Do not come to campus if you are experiencing any cold, flu-like, or other symptoms. If you are experiencing these symptoms please follow the isolation and quarantine guidelines below..

Quarantine & Isolation Guidelines:
When you go back to your normal activities, take added precautions over the next 5 days, such as taking steps for cleaner air, practicing good hygiene, wearing a well-fitted mask, physical distancing, or testing for times when you will be around other people. Taking precautions is especially important to protect people with factors that increase their risk of severe illness from respiratory viruses.

Vaccinations for Staff:
All Sonoma Academy employees, subs, coaches, and tutors are strongly encouraged to be fully vaccinated (with boosters).

Vaccinations for Students:
All students are strongly encouraged to be fully vaccinated (with boosters).

Testing:
We keep a supply of rapid antigen tests on campus which can be utilized if anyone presents with symptoms at school. Additionally, we recommend that students test if anyone in the household is positive and/or experiencing symptoms, or if they themselves are experiencing symptoms.

Masking:
Masks are optional for everyone. Everyone should feel comfortable wearing a mask if they choose. When masking, we recommend utilizing a surgical mask or N95-type mask. We reserve the right to implement school-wide mandatory masking protocol should conditions warrant.

Cleaning:
Sonoma Academy is cleaned daily to the highest standard.

Air Filtration:
Air purifiers (with UltraHEPA filter combined with a dual action Carbon/Gas Trap/VOC filter) have been placed in every room and office. MERV-13 filters have been installed in all HVAC systems and are changed frequently. Classroom doors and windows will be open to allow for fresh air circulation.
