Track & Field Begins Early Season Meets; Mann Sets School record in 1600m

Athletic Department Staff
The track and field season is underway with Sonoma Academy athletes beginning to compete in track & field meets around Northern California. This past weekend the throwers and vaulters competed at Santa Rosa High, while the runners traveled to the Dublin Distance Fiesta in the east bay. There were many impressive numbers and times put up by SA athletes, with Kheva Mann leading the way with his times in the 1600m and 800m races. Mann set a new Sonoma Academy school record in the 1600m with a time of 4:22.37, which is also a "prep best" for the year in the Redwood Empire. He also put up another "prep best" for the Redwood Empire this year finishing the 800m in 1:59.65.
The entire Sonoma Academy team will be in action this coming Wednesday when they travel to Cloverdale for their first Coastal Mountain Conference meet of the season.
