On Thursday in Petaluma the Sonoma Academy Basball team beat NCL 2 leading St. Vincent by a score of 7-3. With the win the Coyotes finish league play in sole possession of second place with a record of 10-2, just one game behind St. Vincent. Thursday's game was tied at two runs each heading into the top of the 7th inning when the SA boys scored four runs to put the game out of reach for the Mustangs. The victory marked the second year in a row the SA baseball team has won at St. Vincent.
Next up Sonoma Academy will apply to the NCS Division 5 tournament that will begin next week. NCS seedings will be released this Sunday on the NCS website, cifncs.org, and the Coyotes will find out their opponent and location for the single elimination postseason tournament at that time. If the Coyotes recieve a spot in the NCS playoffs it will be their fourth consecutive appearance for a baseball progrm that is just five years old.
