SA Equestrian Team Hosts Zone 10, Region 2 Finals at Rancho Union

by Athletic Department Staff
It was a beautiful morning on Sunday to be hosting the IEA Zone 10, Region 2 Regional finals. All riders who accumulated 15 points per division through the course of the season were eligible. Qualified teams participating were San Domenico HS, Woodside Priory, Stanford Red Barn, Longview Stables, Crystal Clear Farm, Team JK, Strides and Sonoma Academy. SA Team members Ransome Rombauer ’17, Aumitis Milani ’16, Marco Berg ’17 and Amber Collins ’17 qualified for the Final. Collins was able to move directly to Zone Finals due to insufficient qualified riders in her Division. Berg took 2nd place in the Junior Varsity Novice O/F 2’ moving him up to the Zone Finals at Elvenstar (Moorpark, CA). Milani placed 5th in the Varsity Open Individual O/F 2’-6” and unfortunately did not qualify to move up to Zone Finals. Rombauer placed 1st in both the Varsity Open Individual 2’-6” O/F and on the Flat – moving her up to Zone 10 Finals in both Divisions. Last year Rombauer made it IEA Nationals in Springfield, MA and placed 6th and 7th overall in the Varsity Open Division.
