Born and raised in San Francisco, Maggie discovered a passion for sexuality education as a student at St. Ignatius College Preparatory in a Religious Studies elective titled "Human Sexuality." This perhaps surprising and unconventional experience led her to pursue an interdisciplinary study of Sexuality and Theater at Hampshire College and ultimately an MA in Sexuality Studies from San Francisco State University.

After receiving her Masters, Maggie returned to St. Ignatius to substitute teach the very class that inspired her studies. Teaching this class introduced her to a new passion for classroom facilitation and curriculum development. She went on to work as a Health Educator for Huckleberry Youth Programs where she provided health and wellness workshops to diverse groups of young people in San Francisco middle schools, high schools, and community based organizations. Highlights from Maggie's time at Huckleberry include planning and leading a summer internship program for Peer Health Educators and co-facilitating groups for LGBTQ+ identified students within the San Francisco Unified School District.

In the fall of 2020, Maggie joined Lick-Wilmering High School to support the school as they navigated a return to in-person learning. During her time there, she has gained invaluable experience collaborating with faculty and staff across departments. Working at LWHS affirmed Maggie's desire to be part of an independent school community. She is thrilled to be joining Sonoma Academy and looks forward to being part of a community that values innovation and creativity.

In her spare time, Maggie can be found spending time with her friends and family, cooking and eating food, and taking the occasional creative writing class. As a former theater kid, she loves going to see live performances and also has a special appreciation for films and movies. A self-proclaimed pop culture and astrology nerd, Maggie values learning about things that she can talk about with the people in her life.
