Before joining us in 2001, Lupe worked for a Swiss-owned electronic company for fifteen years. “Our products were used to serve good causes in many industries: medical, entertainment, military, and more,” she says. “But at Sonoma Academy, our ‘end product’ is much more rewarding to see: a well-educated child who may very well go on to change the world someday!”

As the Assistant to the Head of School, Lupe is a logistical wizard, keeper of the calendar, and correspondence crafter. She has also been known to  wrangle Friday morning snacks for administrative staff during the summer months and serve as a ray of cheerful sunshine for pretty much anyone who walks down the Admin corridor.

“My favorite part of the day is the end of the day when you hear the kids talking to each as they walk down the steps, sharing how awesome their classes were and how much they like their teachers,” says Lupe. “I’m pretty sure that is not what is said about most teachers in other high schools!”

In her free time, Lupe loves to knit and read. “I almost always have a knitting project and book in the backseat of my car!” she says.
My favorite part of the day is the end of the day when you hear the kids talking to each as they walk down the steps, sharing how awesome their classes were and how much they like their teachers.
