Dan Hirsch

Dan grew up in Washington, D.C. and moved to the Bay Area in 2001.  He has a B.A. from Amherst College and a J.D. from Yale Law School.  After graduating from law school, Dan worked for 13 years at Farallon Capital Management, LLC, an investment management firm in San Francisco.  Dan works in the real estate and finance sectors with private and public companies.  He has served on several public company boards – Playa Hotels and Resorts, The Macerich Company, Broadmark Realty Capital, and Nuburu Inc. He is an Executive-in-Residence at Anzu Partners, an investment firm focused on industrial and life sciences and a director and CFO of Anzu Special Acquisition Corp I.

Dan has served on several non-profit boards.  From 2010-2020 he served on the board of The Mission Preparatory School, a public charter school in San Francisco.  From 2014-2019 he served as the founding chair of Horizons at SFFS, a private-public partnership between the San Francisco Friends School and local public schools that provides programing focused on addressing summer learning loss for Mission District public school students.  From 2016-2022, Dan served on the board of the San Francisco Friends School when his daughter Claire was a student there.
Dan lives in Sebastopol with his wife Sue Hirsch and daughter Claire Hirsch ’26.
