SA Debate Wins Big at GGSA League Parli #3

Laila McClay
On the weekend in the middle of intersession, 12 SA debaters attended GGSA League Parli Tournament #3, and it was among our most successful league debates yet! In Varsity Parli debate, ALL THREE of our teams were undefeated! Seniors Jack Greenberg & Liam Kolling, juniors Audrey von Raesfeld & Caleb Kornfein, and juniors Connor Duncan & Aris Saxena all won every debate. No other school at the tournament claimed such consistent success across their entire Varsity entry. And in JV Parli, Alyssa Goody '16 & Gibran Hassan '19 earned a winning record, moving them up to Varsity for all future tournaments. Huge thank you to the parents who helped with driving and judging on Sunday: Kathleen von Raesfeld, David Duncan, and Bonnie Hayne all drove kids and judged debates all day, with additional driving support from the Flanagan and Saxena families. Next up: 20 SA debaters head to the Stanford Invitational Tournament January 15-18 followed by GGSA League Policy # 3 the following weekend. Go SA Debate!
