Welcome New Tennis Coach: Lauren Mulhern

We are excited to welcome Lauren Mulhern as our Head Varsity Girls and Boys Tennis coach. Lauren joins the Coyote tennis program with an impressive playing, coaching, and leadership background in a variety of
successful athletic organizations.

After a decorated high school career in Boise, Idaho in which she was Idaho State Champion for mixed doubles in 2006 and in 2008 for Girls Singles, Mulherny competed at the NCAA Division I level for Colorado State University. Lauren competed all four years at Colorado State University and was a team captain for the Rams. After she earned her degree in Human Development she relocated to the Bay Area where she earned her Master's Degree in Sport Management from the University of San Francisco.

Mulhern started coaching in her final year at Colorado State University where she served as an undergraduate assistant coach. In the Bay Area, she spent two years as the Boys and Girls Assistant Coach at Woodside Priory. In addition, she was a hitting coach at Pure Pace Tennis Academy, a high performance training program
for competitive junior tennis players in Portola Valley.

Outside of coaching, she has worked in the Stanford University Athletic Department (Event Manager), Santa Clara University Athletic Department (Academic Mentor) and was also a program manager in the Bay Area Women's Sports Initiative which helps empower girls in underserved communities through sport. Her current role is a Program Manager for Special Olympics where she manages over 25 school districts for the school's partnership program.

According to Athletic Director Chris Ziemer, Mulhern will be a great asset to our tennis program, athletic department, and school community. "Lauren has had an outstanding collection of experiences, as a
student-athlete, coach, and leader that make her an amazing addition to our community," said Ziemer. "I'm confident our tennis student-athletes will enjoy being coached by her, and she will create a fun, challenging, and rewarding environment for student-athletes at all levels of play. Her experience as a high level player combined with her coaching and leadership experience give her a great perspective of how sports can positively impact the lives of our student-athletes," added Ziemer.
