Varsity Boys Soccer Closes in on League Championship

The boys soccer team continued their impressive run in the NCL II with a convincing 4-1 win over second place Calistoga.  The opening half was closely contested but the Coyotes Zander Crawford ‘22 scored as the first half ended to take a 1-0 lead into the break. In the second half, Calistoga fought hard to come back, but Zander Crawford's second goal of the game gave SA breathing room with a 2-0 lead. Aaron Knuth ‘22 and Josh Ross ‘22 both scored to give the Coyotes a 4-0 lead before Calistoga earned a goal as time expired.

The win keeps the Coyotes undefeated in league play; they can clinch the league title with a win over Technology High tonight. The game is also Senior Day for the Coyotes, and the team is eager to win the league championship and honor the ten seniors with a winning performance.  The Coyotes currently have a 6-0-1 league record.

After tonight’s game, the team travels to Anderson Valley and Roseland Collegiate Prep with two important games to close out league play. After league play concludes, they will turn their attention to the NCS playoffs. With a strong finish, they expect to earn a good seed and the chance to host playoff games.
