  • SA's Andre Williams and Danny Aldridge honored by Press Democrat

    Seniors Andre Williams was recognized by the Press Democrat as the Small Schools Boys Scholar-Athlete of the Year in their annual All-Empire Awards program.  He was one of eight overall winners selected from over 35 schools in the Redwood Empire.  Williams competed for the Coyotes in cross country in the fall, where he won the California State Dvisions V Cross Country Championship.  He also competes in track and field in the spring and has advanced to the Meet of Champions this weekend with top qualifers advancing to the State Track & Field Meet next weekend.

    That same evening, SA's head cross country and track & field coach Danny Aldridge was selected as the Empire Coach of the Year by the Press Democrat.  Danny has had an amazing athletic career as an athlete and coach, including having individual State Champions (male and female) at Sonoma Academy as well as qualifying both teams to the CIF State Championships.

  • Andre Williams '19 Wins State Cross Country Championship

    Andre Williams '19 captured the CIF Division V State Cross Country Championship on Saturday at Woodward Park in Fresno.  The race featured two hundred and fifteen athletes from throughout California.  Williams and Jackson Adelman from southern California were neck and neck for most of the race before Williams pulled away for a four second victory with a time of 15:35.2.

  • SA's Andre Williams '19 Wins CMC Cross Country Championship

    The Coyotes competed in the CMC Cross Country Championships in Willits on Monday and Andre Williams '19 (boys varsity) and Ulises Frick '22 (JV boys) captured the individual league title.  In addition, the JV boys team captured the league championship and both of the varsity teams finished second in league.

    The top finishers for the JV boys:
    1st place - Ulises Frick
    2nd place Ben Weaver
    3rd place Christian Hernandez
    5th place Gavin Galusha

    The top finishers for the varsity boys:
    1st place finish -Andre Williams - Most Valuable Runner of the League
    7th place finish - Alex Pallais
    8th place finish - Leopold van den Daele
     
    The top finishers on the varsity girls:
    3rd place - Mackenzie Stewart
    7th place Claire Zechiel
    8th place Amelia McDonald

    Up next, the Coyotes varsity runners will travel to Hayward for the NCS meet on Saturday November17th.
  • Cross Country Competes in Final League Meet

    The SA cross country teams competed at Spring Lake on Wednesday in their final NCL II league meet.  The JV boys took first in the meet and both the varsity teams finished second behind RVC.  After the races, the team celebrated their two seniors, Andre Williams and Amelia McDonald who ran their final race at Spring Lake in a Coyote uniform.
    In the JV boys, the Coyotes took home six of the top seven spots:
    Ulises Frick,1st place
    Ben Weaver:, 2nd place
    Tyler Duchynski, 3rd place
    Christian Hernandez, 4th place
    Gavin Gaulsha, 6th place
    Derek Huynh, 7th place

    In the girls varsity race, senior Amelia McDonald was the fastest Coyote on the day, finishing in 7th place.
