Cross Country at Viking Opener

The Coyotes Cross Country team joined over 600 athletes from close to 20 schools from throughout Northern California at the Viking Opener on Saturday. Sonoma Academy had over 20 athletes competing on the day
and our athletes joined Assistant Coach Catherine Dubay and teachers Kerry Hanlon and Dan Karbousky who competed as well.

Claire Hirsch '26 (8th place in the 9th/10th grade race) and Athena Ryan '24 (3rd place in the 11th/12th grade race) were the top girls finishers. Javier Hernandez Barragan '24 (12th place in the 11th grade race), Kalev Kraus (17th place in the 9th grade race), Zachary Fuette '24 (16th place in 12th grade race) and Cole Cline '24 (18th place in the 12th grade race) paced the Coyotes with top 20 finishes on the boys side.

The CMC meet scheduled for Wednesday was cancelled due to air quality, but the Coyotes continue to work hard in preparation for upcoming meets.
