Charles Jaymes

Head Chef

Chef Charles first learned his way around the kitchen at age 9 in Richmond, California. Constantly watching his Nana, he was introduced to the rich flavors of soul food. By the age of 13, he was preparing dinners for his family on his own. His love for food only grew from there. Through his travels and life experiences, Charles realized his calling was to cook for people…ALL people!

In 2019, Charles started Chef Cheese LLC, turning his passion into a fully operating catering company. Good word of mouth about his unique and amazing food led him to grow a following rapidly. By 2021, he started a second venture: Meatbomb Food Truck, Northern California's first mobile loaded potato bar. “Chef Cheese” has become a familiar name around the Bay Area, landing contracts with San Pablo Police, USO Military Service Workers, Snoop Youth Football League, and a host of other businesses in Northern California.

Before coming to SA, Chef Charles was at Ile Omode Charter School in Oakland, California while also operating both of his businesses.
