James graduated from Brown University and had every intention of pursuing a career as a corporate income tax analyst. However, through reflection and a multitude of fortunate life adjustments, he found himself always returning to a school environment.

His journey as an educator began as an Exploratory teacher at Sonoma Academy and then
as a wrestling coach at Bishop Alemany High School in Mission Hills, California. Once at Bishop Alemany, he found his calling and jumped at the chance to begin his career as a math teacher seven years ago. This calling was strengthened while going through the Masters in Education program at Mount Saint Mary’s University in Los Angeles.

Eventually,
James moved to Santa Rosa where he switched to middle school math at Sonoma Country Day School where both of his children now attend. This brings us to the present where James has joined the Sonoma Academy community as a math teacher.
