Track and Field Runs Strong

The Track & Field team opened their season with approximately 1300 students from schools around northern California at the Big Cat Meet hosted at Santa Rosa High School. The day featured impressive performances, PR's, and athletes competing for the first time in addition to a lot of rain. Coach Bailey Stone was impressed with all of the athletes that competed but gave special mention to the following:

  • Varsity Girls 4x100 relay (consisting of Kate Bruntlett '25, Ally Glenn '23, Tindra Niklasson '24, and Olivia Elliott '24), for running a 54.25 and winning their heat by a landslide.
  • Kellen Kramer '25’s JV Boys 800m time of 2:11. This was Kellen’s first race for SA, and although he ran in JV, he won his heat, placed 1st overall for JV boys, and would have been a close 10th place in the Varsity boys division.
  • Elian Diaz-Zepeda '26 ran a excellent JV boys 200m with a time of 26.21, placing 7th in the division out of well over 50 athletes.
  • Tiernan Colby '23 ran a phenomenal 3200m, setting a new personal record of 9:22 and placing 2nd overall after running his second consecutive mile 10+ seconds than the first.

Up next, the Coyotes will compete in the Twilight Invitational at SRJC. Awesome job and good luck, Coyotes!
