Girls Soccer Completes Memorable Season in NCS Playoffs

Athletic Department Staff
The girls soccer team qualified for the NCS playoffs and picked up a 3-1 opening round win over Marin Catholic last Wednesday to advance to the NCS quarterfinals. The Coyotes traveled to #2 seeded Branson on Saturday where they faced the three time defending NCS champion. The Coyotes competed well and the score was tied 1-1 at the half. With almost 20 minutes left and the game still tied, Branson scored two goals in four minutes to pull away and pick up the win.

Against Marin Catholic, the Coyotes played in stormy conditions and managed to pull off the 3-1 upset victory over the higher seeded Marin Catholic team.

The Branson loss ended a memorable season for the Coyotes, in which they competed in the large school North Bay League Oak Division for the first time. After years of dominating the small school division of fall soccer, the move to the winter North Bay League and NCS Division IV was a welcomed challenge and opportunity to continue to improve.

Great job to the Coyotes!
