After earning her BA from Stanford University, Mary worked in the nonprofit sector and taught middle and high school math in the peninsula area. She then went on to earn her Master of Science in Nursing from UC San Francisco. She and her family moved to Sonoma County in 2006. In 2009 they started Green Star Farm, a small farm on the outskirts of Sebastopol that produces pasture-raised meat and eggs. Mary’s work in the field of health care focused on providing accessible and affordable health services to all. She has served on the Board of Directors for West County Health Centers since 2007. Mary’s husband Marc formerly worked for several tech companies in the Silicon Valley. He is now a farmer who is passionate about regenerative agriculture. Together they have three children: Jeremy (’22), Madeline, and Nathaniel.
I’ve always felt that it was important for me to give of my time in support of my children’s schools. Their education is important to me and when I serve the school it sends the message to my kids that school is a priority in our lives. I feel honored to be able to give back to SA by serving as a Trustee and so grateful for everything the school has given to my son.
