Theater Arts

Take the Stage

The Theater Arts program at Sonoma Academy allows students to explore life on and behind the stage. We offer a wide array of electives, exploratories, and intersession opportunities, as well as two stage productions per year, once in spring and once in fall.

Our productions are performed in front of a live audience and performers are selected based on an audition. For those who are interested in theater but prefer to remain offstage, we have many opportunities to work in lighting, set and costume design, choreography, and more.

Students begin their study of Theater Arts with Foundation Arts: Theater; following completion of this introductory course, they may take electives such as Shakespeare and Period Styles in Performance, Approaches to Contemporary Theater, and Performance Studio.
