Find Your Harmony
Our goal is to explore the universality of music and the effect it has on our lives and our culture. We believe that everyone can participate in music, and we honor the value of every music-culture across the world.
With co-curricular groups like the Coyote Choir, performance-based courses like Jazz Band, Rock Band, and Honors Chamber Singers, and academic courses like Foundation Arts: Music and Honors Advanced Musicianship, our students can experiment with many different modes of musical expression—experienced musicians or novices alike.
Our musicians and vocalists perform in several concerts each year, as well as in theater productions, in regional competitions and festivals, and at our weekly Community Meetings.

In this class, instrumentalists, both electric and acoustic, and vocalists get together to rock out and jam through classic and contemporary songs. -
Chamber Ensemble
Honors Chamber Ensemble
Students build solid skills in technique and expression through a regular regimen of daily exercise and by preparing repertory for a culminating concert. -

A variety of Intersession courses allow students create, perform, and/or engineer original recordings in our sound studios using a variety of techniques and equipment to capture, manipulate, and mix performances. -
Choir

Comprised of students, faculty, and staff, the Sonoma Academy Choir sings choral pieces from many musical traditions, with an emphasis on fun and community. -
Jazz Band
Jazz Band
Students will rehearse, practice, and perform with other jazz musicians, having a good time growing both their ensemble playing and solo improvisational skills.
