International Study and Service

Ride elephants and sleep in bamboo huts in Thailand. Watch a total solar eclipse at the edge of the Sahara desert. Study coral reefs in Honduras. Tramp through Peking’s Forbidden City and practice Spanish in colonial Mexico.

Come explore the world with us. Then use your knowledge to change it for the better.

International study and service are key parts of an education here. Indeed, our mission states that our “students communicate across cultures as they prepare to become leaders in a dynamic world.”

Experience other cultures.

Half of our students travel internationally while they’re here. Future trips are being offered to Thailand, the Czech Republic, Honduras, Australia, France, Mexico, Costa Rica, Niger and China. Most trips are offered during our January Intersession, some during Spring Break. All students are eligible, and financial aid is available.

While traveling, you’ll be immersed in local culture – staying in private homes and off the beaten tourist paths.

Help people a world away.

You’ll have a unique opportunity to make a difference around the globe through our CONNECTIONS program.

A long-term bond has been formed between the village and SA, with our students visiting the village and visitors from Africa coming to our school. It has been so exciting for our students to see the positive changes they’ve helped make happen! [Read more]

I like the way travel works at SA. You stay in people’s houses, not in big hotels. You’re not a tourist. You’re experiencing the culture.”
